Moringa has the following amazing benefits:-

🌺Vitamin A to build collagen in the hair which is essential for the strength and healthy structure of our hair.

🌺Vitamin C and E which help with moisturising hair; and

🌺Antibacterial properties which are great for the scalp, and can help in treating dandruff and eczema.

It is no doubt that Moringa packs a powerful punch, and I am excited to be doing this challenge.

4. The Moringa Powder Challenge

Moringa powder showing how making a DIY moringa butter can hydrate and strengthen your hair.

The challenge will be to apply the hair mask to my hair once a week and to drink Moringa powder in my tea every day, for three months.

Hair Mask

To prepare the hair mask-

  • Add yogurt to a mixing bowl.
  • Mix in 1 – 2 tablespoons of Moringa powder (depending on the length of your hair).
  • Stir the mixture until you have a creamy consistency.
  • Optional – Add 1 tablespoon of coconut, almond, or olive oil (depending on your preference).
  • Apply to your hair, working from roots to ends, and leave it on for 1 hour.
  • Rinse it off.

Tea

To prepare the tea:

🌺Add a heaped teaspoon of Moringa Powder to a cup of hot water.

🌺Add a cinnamon stick, mint leaves, and some ginger for taste.

Happy drinking!

5. Styling during the Challenge

We are getting into winter, and so I will be keeping my hair tucked away in cornrows under wigs.

I will, however, wear my hair out for the first two weeks of April, before going into an extended period of protective styling.

Sound off in the comments, and let’s hear your experiences with Moringa Powder. Wanna join me on the challenge or catch updates on my progress?

**Update – 30 June 2024

Touching base after the 3 month challenge period, and it did not go as I had hoped. My planned updates and sticking to the rules of the challenge went out the window as I found myself facing a challenging personal experience.

I had to put all my hair challenge goals on the back burner and focus on prioritising my health. My iron levels, which had recovered, also took a knock and I have been trying to get my Iron and Vitamin D levels back to normal levels (for the 100th time).

Nonetheless, my attention is turned back to my mental and internal health, and I look forward to starting another hair challenge and seeing it through. Until the next challenge ladies, hope your hair journey went smoother than mine.

Happy naturaling!
