Instructions
- Bring the water to a boil and then add the hibiscus leaves, letting it simmer for 10 minutes. Stir it lightly.
- Set aside the mixture then let it sit for at least 12 hours. You will notice that the color of the water will be a dark red, and most of the nutrients from the flower will have leached into the water.
- Sieve the mixture, collecting the hibiscus water, and discard the leftover leaves.

Storage
Store it in the fridge, between uses, to prolong its shelf life. It can be kept for 7 – 10 days in the fridge.
Usage
- Hair rinse: Hibiscus water works well as a hydrating mist and you can section your hair into 4 or more parts and spray directly onto your hair strands and scalp, before massaging your scalp. Then put hair in twists and let it sit for 30 minutes before applying a deep conditioning treatment.
- Leave-in treatment: Dampen your hair with the spray before your LOC/ LCO routine.
NaHaZo tip
Hibiscus tea can be staining, so make sure that you use an old t-shirt when applying and if using in overnight treatment, make sure that you secure your hair firmly and/or make sure your hair is dry first.
Hibiscus water works well when used with hibiscus oil.
