Rose Oil has the following benefits for your hair:-

  1. Rose oil smells great, is a therapeutic treatment for your hair and can be used for relaxation and stress relief.
  2. It is great scalp oil and can help sooth dry, and itchy scalps.
  3. It restores sheen to dull hair and it is a great light oil to seal moisture into your hair.
  4. Rose oil helps tame frizz and is a great oil to use to smoothen and soften hair.

Ingredients

  • X1 cup of pressed dry roses
  • X1 mason jar with a lid
  • X1 cup of carrier oil (e.g. Olive oil, Grapeseed oil, Almond or Jojoba oil)
  • Strainer

Method

  1. Put the rose petals in the mason jar and pour a 1/2 cup of your preferred carrier oil into the jar.
  2. Bring a pot of water to boil, and then let it simmer.
  3. Place a smaller pot into it and then lower the jar into it. Using the double boiling method, keep the jar submerged in the water for at least 45 minutes. *Do not bring to a boil, but let it simmer.
  4. Remove the mason jar and let it cool down.
  5. After it has cooled, strain the mixture, collecting the oil into a dark coloured jar.
  6. Add a handful of petals, add more carrier oil to it to submerge the roses and close the jar. Shake thoroughly to mix and then set aside to soak overnight.
  7. Strain the petals out and store your oil in a dark place for at least 3 weeks.

Your oil should then be ready for use.
